Ryerson Mech design team – world’s best!!!

As reported by Prof. Vincent Chan:

“I’m proud to inform you that the ASME Ryerson student team (Alex Simpson, Alexei Semine, Robert Poskrobko and Anthony Brinias) just placed first in the Student Design Competition at the ASME World Congress being held in San Diego this week.

“As you may remember, last March I announced that this team of 4th year students placed first at the ASME District B competition, against 20+ Canadian and Mid-Western US teams.  They also won the right to represent District B at the World Congress.

“This year’s design challenge, was to design, build and drive a web enabled robot through a simulated disaster scene, picking up and placing tokens along the way.    Ryerson’s team beat the 2nd placed team (from IIT Mumbai) by a full 10 seconds!  (total spread among all teams was less than 1 minute).”
